Matthew Nimetz, Chairman Matt Nimetz is a managing director of General Atlantic LLC, a leading private investment firm focusing globally on the information technology/communications sector. Prior to that, Mr. Nimetz was a partner (and former chair) of the law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in New York City. He has also served as Under Secretary of State for Security Assistance, Science and Technology and as Counselor of the Department of State. Mr. Nimetz serves as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations; a director of The Nature Conservancy of New York, member and former chair of the Center for Democracy and Reconciliation in Southeast Europe, chair of the Advisory Committee of Central European University and trustee of Committee for Economic Development.
Robert A. Kindler Rob Kindler is Vice Chairman at Morgan Stanley. Rob joined Morgan Stanley after having been global head of mergers and acquisitions at JPMorgan for six years. Prior to that Rob was a senior partner at the law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions for over 20 years. He is on the Board of Trustees of Colgate University, the Board of Trustees of New York University School of Law, the Board of Directors of March of Dimes (NY Div), and the Board of Directors of the Knight-Bagehot Fellowship Program at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
Bradford Race Brad Race is a partner at the law firm of Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP where he regularly provides advice and representation on corporate, securities, real estate, governmental relations and legislative matters. Mr. Race has served as Secretary and Chief of Staff to the Governor of New York, George Pataki. Currently he serves on several boards including The John Hancock Life Insurance Company of New York, The School of American Ballet, and Dia Center for the Arts.
Stephen M. Ross Stephen M. Ross is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Related Companies, L.P. Mr. Ross began his career in Detroit, Michigan working for the accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand as a tax attorney. He later moved to New York where he specialized in real estate and corporate finance at two investment banking firms immediately prior to founding Related. Mr. Ross is a member of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors of the Real Estate Board of New York; Chairman of the Board of CharterMac and Equinox Fitness and a member of the Board of Directors of the Guggenheim Museum, Kerzner International, and Lincoln Center. He is a trustee of the National Building Museum, the Urban Land Institute, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and the Jackie Robinson Foundation.
Alair Townsend Alair Townsend was publisher of Crain's New York Business from 1989 to 2006 and vice president of Crain Communications, Inc., from 1993 to 2006. She is now a columnist for the publication. Ms. Townsend has served as New York City's Deputy Mayor for Finance and Economic Development and as the City's Budget Director; in addition, she has held several posts in Washington, D.C. including Associate Director of the Budget Committee of the House of Representatives; Assistant Secretary for Management and Budget of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, and Staff Director of the Subcommittee on Fiscal Policy of the Joint Economic Committee of Congress.
Garrick Utley, ex-officio Garrick Utley is the President of The Levin Graduate Institute. For forty years Mr. Utley worked as a broadcast journalist on NBC, ABC, CNN, as well as Public Radio and Public Television. With a primary focus on international affairs he has reported from more than seventy-five countries. He is the author of the book: "You Should Have Been Here Yesterday" (Public Affairs, 2000), a narrative of the growth of television news in the United States. Board service includes The Council on Foreign Relations (1993-2003), Carleton College (1083-2007) and Public Radio International (1996-2008). Currently, Mr. Utley is Chairman of the American Council on Germany.
Robert G. Wilmers Robert Wilmers is chairman of M&T Bank Corporation. Mr. Wilmers serves on the Board of Directors of: The Business Council of New York State, Inc. the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, and the Andy Warhol Foundation. He is a member of the John F. Kennedy School of Government Visiting Committee at Harvard University; the French Institute/Alliance Francaise; and the Council on Foreign Relations.
Carl T. Hayden Carl T. Hayden is Chair of the Board of Trustees of the State University of New York, and an attorney with Ziff Law Firm in Elmira, New York. He is Chancellor Emeritus of New York State Board of Regents. Chancellor Emeritus Hayden is a former president of the Elmira City School District Board of Education. In addition, Mr. Hayden is a former Chairman of the Board of the New York State Health Foundation. He co-chaired Governor Spitzer’s Education Transition Team and served on the Higher Education Commission. He was a founder and for six years president of the Mark Twain Arts Council, producer of the “Mark Twain-The Musical!” a Broadway scale musical celebrating Mark Twain’s life and writings in Elmira. He is also a director of Panelogic, Inc., a private corporation. Chancellor Emeritus Hayden served in the U.S. Navy from 1963-1967. He was a Gunnery Officer aboard USS Boston, a heavy cruiser, and a Legal Officer at the US Naval Station, Treasure Island, San Francisco, California.
Edward F. Cox Ed Cox is a lawyer in the Manhattan law firm of Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler, LLP,
where he has served as the Chairman of the Corporate Department and a member of
the Management Committee. Presently, he is Chairman of the New York Republican
State Committee. Mr. Cox has served
three Presidents, including Presidents Nixon and George H.W. Bush in the
international arena and President Reagan as general counsel to a major energy
agency financing billion dollar synthetic fuels projects. In New York
government, he has acted in volunteer capacities responsible for the merit
selection of judges for New York’s highest court, for the budget of the State
parks, for the authorization of charter schools, for the state’s community
colleges, and for the State University’s $10 billion budget, the reengineering
of its operations and the construction and maintenance of its academic and
medical facilities. Mr. Cox is presently a director of a New York Stock
Exchange independent oil and gas company and the Chairman of the New York
League of Conservation Voters Education Fund.
