Beijing Asset Management Program

Seventeen mid level and senior executives from China’s Beijing State-owned Assets Management Company (BSAM) spent an intense week at the Levin Institute in September studying Corporate Valuation, Global Strategy and Corporate Governance.

BSAM is a wholly state-owned company and China's leading investment company which oversees large State-owned Enterprises in Beijing. BSAM is the primary investor in Bank of Beijing, Beijing Rural Commercial Bank and Beijing Security as well as numerous other financial institutions. China Beijing Equity Exchange (CBEX) and Beijing Guo Tong Asset Management Co. Ltd. are part of newly established BSAM financial service initiative.

The group included representatives from Manufacturing, Financial Service, Real Estate & Infrastructure and Telecommunication, as well as the management team of the National Stadium (Bird's Nest) and The National Aquatics Center (Water Cube) for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

In addition to classroom sessions, the group made visits to various companies including McKinsey & Company, Warburg Pincus, General Atlantic and Deloitte. At the end of their NY stay they went on to San Francisco for meetings with companies there like Intel.
