The Levin Institute The State University of New York

JumpStart NYC is a proven, three-month educational program to help individuals leaving jobs in the financial services sector to apply their knowledge, skills, and abilities in opportunities beyond financial services.

One of Mayor Bloomberg’s initiatives to boost the New York City economy, JumpStart has already successfully delivered three programs that helped participants develop new skills, explore project opportunities in New York’s entrepreneurial firms and arts organizations, and in many cases create new career paths and opportunities.

The next edition of JumpStart NYC will have an "arts" track, which will focus on New York City's exciting arts community.

JumpStart NYC was initiated by New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). Its courses, events and seminars were developed by The Levin Institute (SUNY), and there's no cost to you.

"I think what it showed was that we all have core competencies that can be used or translated into different areas, as it really showed that  our professionalism and our skill set can be used, and that we can do it with ease."
