SEMESTER IN NEW YORK PROGRAMS
International Finance Semester
Student Testimonials
Why did you choose to spend a semester at Levin?
A semester in the financial capital of world is a once in a lifetime experience. Moreover, the Levin syllabus has lot of depth to offer. I chose to spend the semester at the Levin Institute because I felt it would present me with a unique opportunity to excel at an intensive graduate institute that would help me to go above and beyond the finance curriculum at my MBA program back home. In addition, the chance to study finance as an MBA in the financial capital of the world, without attending a program in NYC, was a huge draw.
What was your experience of the program? Of Levin's staff? Of professors? Terrific!! The program has great value to offer in the long run. The Professors are top of the line with industry experience. The Levin staff and professors have been extremely friendly and accommodating, which is refreshing, especially in the midst of adjusting to life in such a large city.
Do you feel you've gotten your time and money's worth? Why?
I definitely think this experience was worth both of my time and money. In addition to the intensive course of study, the opportunity to work hand in hand with some of the most prestigious and well respected firms on Wall Street has made this the most valuable semester of my tenure as an MBA or undergrad!
What did you think of the Distinguished Speaker Series?
Fascinating!! I thought the distinguished speaker series was a great idea. It allowed us the opportunity to listen to, and ask questions of, the people who do what it is that we, in the program, all hope to be doing in the near future. It is the perfect supplement to our work and studies here in New York City.
Student Summary While participating in the Levin Program in New York City, I was able to not only enjoy the opportunity of being in the world’s financial center in the midst of my job hunting process, but also significantly strengthen my industry experience by doing a project in conjunction with Morgan Stanley. Not to mention taking advantage of the weekly networking opportunities that we were prompted to attend by Levin staff or were able to find on our own.
It was also a valuable experience to be in the class with the students from Instituto de Empresa, a top European business school. It was a great opportunity to be able to learn from our very intelligent and competitive classmates from Europe and be able to share our own knowledge as well. And most importantly, we were able to build valuable life friendships that might prove useful later in our business careers.
I can't stress enough the importance of being in the city when the top- tier investment banks and financial services firms are conducting their open houses. Attendance of them is crucial during the job searching process.
