Levin is the Knowledge Partner for Economist Conference on NYC
The Levin Institute partnered with The Economist Group in a conference October 2nd on “The Future of New York City as the World’s Business Hub”. As the Knowledge partner top the conference, President Utley chaired two panels. The first on “New York City: a capital of innovation and growth industries.” The second on “The global drive for talent: New York’s assets and challenges” Speakers on the first panel included Executive Vice-President and Managing Director of Allen & Co. Nancy Peretsman, President of Polytechnic University, Jerry Hultin, and Executive Director of the Center for an Urban Future, Jonathan Bowles. Those on the second panel were Paul Tagliabue, former NFL Commissioner and Levin Board Chair, and Valerie Germain, Managing Partner of Heydrick and Struggles, the search firm, and Richard Edelman, Chairman and CEO of Edelman Inc. Mayor Bloomberg delivered the keynote address. Other city officials included Police Commissioner Ray Kelly Schools Chancellor Joel Klein, and Deputy Mayor Dan Doctoroff had key roles at the conference. The conference examined the increasing competition among major global cities. The Levin Institute plans a publication on the conference.
