SEMESTER IN NEW YORK PROGRAMS
Science, Technology & International Relations (STIR)

OVERVIEW

The Levin Institute's "Science, Technology and International Relations" (STIR) program provides students with an increased understanding of the impact of science and technology on the dynamics of international relations. As well, STIR highlights the ways current and future policymakers, business executives, and managers og NGO's can leverage their enhanced knowledge of S&T and the changing external global environment to strengthen their organization's effectiveness on a regional and/or global basis.

The program includes:

- Classroom instruction in: Professional Skills and America as Second Business/Technology Culture; Science, Technology & World Affairs; Global Technology Markets and Competition; International Space, Security, Energy and Environment and Global Environment and World Health

- Distinguished guest speakers presenting each week. Past presenters include JP Morgan's Energy Analyst, a World Bank representative, Westinghouse Nuclear Engineering's CTO and various thinktanks leaders, among others

- Site visits to key institutions such as the United Nations, Council on Foreign Relations, The Eurasia Group and Broohaven/NASA

- Cultural Program with activities including a Broadway Play, a Mets baseball game, a cruise around manhattan and more
